Sie leben gerne in offenen Landschaften mit leichtem Baumbestand, in einigen Regionen der Welt auch in Wäldern. Sie ernähren sich vorwiegend von Insekten und Früchten und werden des Öfteren auch als Allesfresser angesehen, da sie sich auch zum Teil Reste der menschlichen Nahrung als Quelle erschlossen haben.
